What we're doing
To reduce the risk of infection for our staff, Australian Toyota dealerships may be operating under changed hours. Please check your local Toyota dealership website.
Our dealers are ensuring intensive cleaning of hard surfaces in dealerships and all touch points in vehicles. We have also installed hand sanitisers throughout and implemented new health guidelines.
We are strictly following distancing guidelines and have installed markers in dealerships to make it easy for you to do the same.
We’re helping protect our front line medical workers from COVID-19.
Our expert design, technology and production staff took up the task of protecting medical workers during this time by developing and manufacturing desperately needed face shields.
At Toyota Australia, the health and safety of the wider community is of top priority to us, and we want to assist in any way that we can.
We have utilised our advanced design, technology and production expertise to help assist the medical community in protecting against COVID-19 by developing and manufacturing desperately needed face shields.
The face shields have been designed and prototyped in-house by Toyota’s Product Planning and Development (PP&D) team in Port Melbourne using Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Our established production line has the capacity to produce a face shield every minute, currently delivering about 400 per day to help meet the enormous demand for medical protective wear.
The approved and tested face shields will be supplied to medical staff in hospitals to ensure their protection in the fight against COVID-19.
Through our partnership with 3DEME (3D Emergency Medical Equipment), we are also currently studying additional products that could be prototyped and manufactured locally to meet the needs of the medical community.
In partnership with not-for-profit organisation, Alex Makes Meals
Over the next three months, our Toyota catering team will be cooking over 300 meals every day for the healthcare heroes who are working on the frontlines to take care of our communities.
In partnership with not-for-profit organisation, Alex Makes Meals, we will be delivering straight from the Toyota HQ kitchen to hospitals, clinics and research centres throughout Melbourne.
Deliveries will be met by hospital staff at their shift changeover – so the meals will be on time for those heading home for dinner, or to fuel those starting their PM shift.
Alex Makes Meals was established by Alex Dekker, 20, who started to make meals for his sister, a doctor working in the COVID-19 screening clinic at Monash Hospital.
Since then, Alex Makes Meals has provided meals to thousands of Doctors and Nurses on the frontline, and here at Toyota Australia, we are extremely proud to be a part of this movement.
We want to thank our healthcare heroes; the nurses, doctors, cleaners, admin staff and volunteers on the frontline for their efforts - we hope these meals assist in some way.
