Active Cruise Control

Cruise control is great for highway driving, but constantly adjusting it to match other drivers isn’t.

Using your Toyota’s built-in camera and front-grille-mounted radar, Active Cruise Control keeps your vehicle at a pre-selected speed, automatically accelerating and decelerating with the traffic in front[S1][J11].

Some Toyota models feature All-Speed ACC, allowing you to slow down to 0km/h. Other select models only feature High-Speed ACC, which is designed to operate at speeds above 50km/h[J11].

How it works

Constant speed control

Constant speed control

Once you’ve reached your chosen speed, simply activate and set the ACC, and your vehicle will stay at your chosen speed. If you want to cancel ACC, just apply the brake or deactivate the ACC.

Following control

Following control

To ensure that a safe distance between vehicles is maintained, the road ahead is monitored by both a camera integrated and a radar. When these sensors detect a slower moving vehicle within range, the system will slow your vehicle to maintain a safe distance.

Deceleration control

Deceleration control

If the car in front slows down or gets closer than your pre-set range, ACC will automatically reduce your speed. In cases where traffic has dramatically slowed you’ll also get an audio and visual alert.

Acceleration control

Acceleration control

If you’re travelling slower than your constant speed setting and the vehicle in front accelerates, ACC will automatically increase your speed until you’re travelling at the speed you have set.

For owners

In the event of a dirty camera lens or obstructed radar lens, you can override the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode by holding down the cruise control main switch for 1.5 seconds or more. For more information please read your Toyota owner’s manual.

Please note: This technology is a driver-assist feature only. It’s not designed to replace safe driving practices.
